Hello World of Bongs Community, today we take a turn over to Australia and visit Matty Brunker (Twisted Inspiration Glass), an artist with impressive skills:
WHAT GOT YOU INTERESTED IN GLASS IN THE FIRST PLACE?
I used to watch my father glassblowing as a young child and have been mesmerised ever since.
WHERE DID YOU LEARN YOUR SKILLS?
I was fortunate enough to come from a glassblowing family and was taught by my father who has been in the industry since the late 70s.
DO YOU CREDIT ANY OTHER GLASS BLOWER WITH HELPING YOU ACHIEVE YOUR SUCCESS?
I would like to give thanks to my father and every person that ever picked up anything and gave it there best shot much love and respect to all the fighters out there.
TALK TO ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR STYLE.
I would call my style artistic more than anything. And I draw my inspiration from my family and the beautiful Great Barrier Reef and tropical paradise we live in and are blessed to call our home.
WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU MOST LIKE TO WORK WITH?
I mostly like to work with a lot of colour milli and opals also enjoy changing things up reguarly just to keep it interesting.
WHAT’S THE MOST EXPENSIVE/BEAUTIFUL PIECE YOU’VE EVER MADE?
I have so many favorite pieces its hard to say. And the most expensive pieces I have sold are my reef bongs which have sold for 2.5k+
WHAT WAS YOUR MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT ON THE PATH TO “MAKING IT” AS A GLASS ARTIST?
I guess some of the worst times were when I was younger and struggled as an aspiring artist to just merely survive . Im glad the beautiful world and people in it showed me love and support to become the artist I am today.
AND WHAT WAS YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT?
I think my proudest moment in my journey was on my 21st birthday knowing I could support and provide a home for not only myself but also my wife & baby daughter who is now 16 with my artwork and without having to rely on (The Man)
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO NEW GLASS ARTISTS?
Work hard don’t give ever give up and most of all have fun If your not having fun your doing it wrong
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE STRAIN/EXTRACT, AND WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE TO DAB IT IN?
Love me some Blue Casey Jones & also cant go past a bit of Tangie . My wife has a nice little screaming mushroom rig from Glasshole that does the trick nicely
IF YOU COULD MAKE YOUR “DREAM” PIECE, WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE?
I will be making it and ya’ll just have to wait and see I can tell you it will be epic and fully functional in several ways………
WHO WOULD YOU LIKE, MOST OF ALL IN THIS WORLD, TO HIT YOU UP FOR A PIECE, AND WHAT PIECE WOULD YOU MAKE FOR HIM/HER?
Id love to make a demon rig from hell for Alice Cooper.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR GLASS ARTISTRY IN THE CANNABIS INDUSTRY?
I think the sky is the limit for the glass artists of the world it just depends how hard one is willing to work to refine and diversify there craft I believe we aint seen nothing yet and the age of fully automated movement holograms laser beams and all sorts of modern day wizardry is upon us … Very excited to see whats next in this wonderful industry.
IF YOU WERE SHIPWRECKED ON A DESERT ISLAND AND YOU COULD ONLY HAVE THREE ESSENTIAL PIECES WITH YOU, WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE, AND WHY?
I would like to have a perfect clear marble in which I can concentrate sunlight into a fine point to make a fire also a hand blown glass water distillation condenser to provide good clean water and last of all a good chunky Twisted Inspiration Glass bong to keep the blues at bay
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC TO WORK TO/DAB TO?
I love all music but always find my self drawn to all the classics and classical music. Also cant go past a good heavy dose of Pink Floyd
